Hello, my name is Roy and I run rykorp.
rykorp is my one-man operation based out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina that builds websites. I focus on developing tools that facilitate social networking while taking advantage of open standards and utilizing the latest development technologies.
I believe in the power of social networking tools in helping people share ideas and interests. I make a concerted effort to keep all my tools as free as possible in hopes that many people can take advantage of them. (My current day job allows me to help pay the server bills!)
I understand that many sites shut down within a few years; because of this, it's important that sites make an effort to build export tools so that the users truly own the data. It's also important to allow other developers to build on top of your work, so all projects (when applicable) have free and open APIs so other developers can help build tools for users.
In one sentence, rykorp exists to build kick-ass, open, and genuinely useful sites to its users.
